This time we talk with Naomi Findlay about two of her recently completed projects, Carrington House and Waukivory Estate. Naomi speaks to us about making design decisions based on functionality and creating a connection with nature at every single moment, which is an important part of her process.
We are here filming at Carrington House, tell us the background behind the project?
This was a project purchased pre covid and completed during the two years following.
It was a slow deliberate renovation so I could share with our community who are always wanting to see behind the scenes of my Reno’s.

What are the highlighting features in these projects and the handles you’ve used?
The handles have been used in so many settings. Everything from the mainstream kitchen cabinets, to vanities, cool storage containers and even hanging racks.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
For each property I renovate my inspiration always comes from within the structure as well as the property it sits on. Connecting the dwelling with nature is a priority to me when I am creating beautiful spaces.
What are the top kitchen styles your clients are asking for?
Clean, simple, interrelated and liveable. People want to live in their kitchens not work in them. Less of a work space and more of a living space

We are also showcasing Waukivory Estate, tell us the background behind the project?
This farm is my true love. An old abandoned farm house that needed a lot of love energy and work.
We have literally injected every parcel of energy we have to make this an amazingly relaxed and considered place for people to come and stay.
Do you and your clients prefer using a consistent handle finish throughout all joinery in the home or does this vary depending on the room?
This really depends on the room. As long as they are all singing a similar tune you are safe, they don’t have to match.
Do you have a preference for handle material/finishes?
I am a huge antique bronze fan and with brushed brass as a close second.
What are the top 3 emerging trends we will see across 2023?
Ohhhhh dressing up out kitchens with styling items is top. Texture and movement in finishes, which is more and more popular thankfully.
Would you base your overall design / styling around a specific kitchen handle or are handles an afterthought?
No part of a design can be an after thought. Whether handles are your jumping off point for the whole design or they’re an element equally as important as door profiles or bench tops….. either way they can’t be an afterthought!
What sets the Momo handles apart from others in the market?
How they feel in hand, the range of colours, and the customer service.
What are you favourite Momo Handle ranges?
My Waukivory estate ones hands down.
A big thank you to Naomi Findlay for taking part in our Momo Inspirations series.
