Kensington Project
Craig Linke Bespoke Building
The Kensington Project, a remarkable transformation of a 100-year-old gentleman's bungalow, brings together heritage charm and sophisticated elegance. With design led by Charlotte Standish, Lead Interior Designer at Craig Linke Bespoke Building, this residence thoughtfully balances British and American influences while honouring the home’s original character.
Reflecting on the project’s concept, Charlotte notes, “Craig and Lauren wanted to update their bungalow in a way that was sympathetic to the character of the home.” The result? A refined blend of ornate ceiling details, striking stone fireplaces, bespoke cabinetry, and a rich, dark-toned whiskey room that anchors the entire space in warmth and luxury. The selection of European oak herringbone flooring and custom marble fireplace surrounds accentuates this timeless aesthetic, grounding each room in classic elegance.

The whiskey room, an undeniable showpiece of the project, embodies luxury through a blend of contrasting materials. Charlotte describes it as a “combination of natural solid timbers, marble, and solid brass accents, to softer textures like linen furnishings, Ralph Lauren fabric, and a beautiful rug.” This curated mix not only enriches the room but creates a space where sophistication and comfort coexist harmoniously.
Throughout Kensington, Momo Handles have been essential to achieving the design vision. The Bellevue Solid Brass Knurled Bar Pulls and Knobs in Bronze add texture and warmth, while the Barrington Bar Handle with backplate elegantly covers existing joinery in the kitchen. In the whiskey room, the Belgravia Solid Brass T Knob in Bronze, as Charlotte aptly says, “was the cherry on top, offsetting the solid timber cabinetry perfectly.”

Reflecting on the final outcome, Charlotte highlights a key point of pride: “We are so proud of the way we were able to tie each of the spaces together through use of materials and accent finishes.” From bespoke bronze mesh air conditioning grills to marble door thresholds and finely knurled Momo handles, each detail contributes to a unified, luxurious experience.
